Samsung launched the Galaxy XR headset on Wednesday during its Galaxy Unpacked event in October 2025. It was launched as the South Korean tech giant’s first Extended Reality (XR) headset, which displays Augmented Reality (AR) elements in the real world through two in-built lenses. It features hand tracking, allowing users to control widgets and apps with hand gestures thanks to sensors at the bottom. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chipset, 16GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage, and runs on the Android XR platform.

The Samsung Galaxy XR headset is priced at $1,799 (approximately ₹158,000) in the US and KRW 2,690,000 (approximately ₹165,000) in South Korea. Samsung is also offering 12-month EMI options, allowing users to purchase it for $149 (approximately ₹13,000) per month. The device is currently only available in one Silver Shadow color and is only available in the United States and South Korea.

This screen boasts a 95% DCI-P3 color gamut, a 109° horizontal and 100° vertical field of view. Notably, the device also features a multi-camera setup along with the Google Gemini AI assistant.

The device also features two pass-through cameras, six world-facing tracking cameras, four eye-tracking cameras, and Iris Recognition security features. For audio, the device features a two-way speaker setup and a six-microphone array. For connectivity, this Samsung headset supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. It has a battery life of 2 hours and a video playback time of 2.5 hours. An additional external battery pack is included with the headset.
